About Therapist

Hello, my name is MaKayla (Burkman) Condie.

I am an Idaho Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC-7003), Utah Clinical Mental Health Counselor (11697949-6004), California Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (13852) and owner of Clarté.

I received my Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling (2014) from Utah State University. While attending USU, I completed my practicum at the EmployAbility Clinic as a student clinician and academic liaison. I then moved to Idaho, where I completed two internships; the first at ISU’s Disability Services and the second at Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

As a counselor, I use an existential philosophy based approach to counseling. This is a fancy way of saying, I think everyone is striving to find purpose in their lives and, through counseling, I’m dedicated to joining their journey for a time to help navigate and find clarity. I utilize many different techniques and tools within my practice, primarily stemming from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Positive Psychology. I am also currently completing the supervision need for certification in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy.

I have experience working with a wide variety of clients and concerns, such as: emotional concerns (depression, anxiety, etc.), self-harm, transition of life issues, tweens/teens, couples/pre-marital couples, LGBTQ+, parenting, employment/academic, and religious based counseling.

Through my years of experience, I have found when clients are provided with a safe therapeutic environment, they are able to navigate challenging life experiences by utilizing positive adaptive skills learned within a therapeutic relationship.
