Typical Rates:
- Intake – $150
- Sessions – $100
I know it can be hard to take that first step in setting up counseling. I want to do my best to help treatment be available for those seeking assistance and change in their lives. If my above costs seem out of reach, please contact me to discuss options. I will try to be as flexible as I can; and, if I cannot help, I would be glad to provide some recommendations of providers I know of in your area.
Insurances:
I’m currently not accepting new “insurance-pay” clients. I understand paying out of pocket for attending counseling can be difficult, especially when you are already paying for insurance. Below are a few pros/cons for using insurance vs private-pay.
Using Insurance Pros:
- Lower out of pocket costs after meeting your deductible
- A list of approved counselors is provided
Using Insurance Cons:
- Less flexibility in choosing your provider – instead of doing your own research, finding the best fit for your unique situation, you only have the names on a pre-approved list to choose from.
- Insurance can at times have more control over your treatment, like length (how many sessions you can have within a specific timeframe), they can refuses payment, request access to records, etc.
- A diagnosis is required in order to receive coverage for treatment. This becomes a part of your permanent medical record.
Using Private-Pay Pros:
- Confidentiality: nothing is reported to insurance, or any other providers, without your request/permission, and therefore will not be added to your permanent medical record.
- You can do all the research you want to find the best fit for a provider.
- You and your provider choose the length and type of your treatment.
Using Private-Pay Cons:
- May be a higher out of pocket cost (this may be alleviated with out-of-network benefits via superbills, which can be discussed with me or your insurance company)
Bishop Pay:
If utilizing assistance from your Bishop and ward, please have your Bishop contact me by telephone for referral and authorization prior to scheduling an appointment. Without prior authorization, you will be responsible for the cost of services.
Payment:
Credit card or check are accepted for payment. My secure client portal will help you set up your payments, if using a card.
Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified me at least 8 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the no show/late cancellation fee. This is not billable to insurance or any other third-party payer.
